How the Mass Media Thinks for You Part 1
OK folks we’re going to switch gears a little bit and talk about something that we are all too familiar with, but may not be informed as to the mechanics behind it: the television. We all have our favorite shows, sports programming or news stations, but the television is a little bit more sophisticated than that. It is a tool like anything else, that can be used for your good or used to harm you. Like the title suggests, there are scientifically tested aspects of television of which the masses aren’t aware, which makes them believe certain things, like or dislike certain things, buy certain things and want certain things.
How can a television harm me or control me in any way? Well, it isn’t the television per se; it’s your brain that’s being bombarded with subliminal messages without you even knowing it. Radio works similarly, because what you hear goes to your brain, as well. Scientists have found a way to feed you information so inconspicuously that you don’t even know that they are advertising to you or programming you. How? Well your brain is a wonderful machine; it is actually the prototype for modern-day computers. You can input information, the brain processes the information and either stores it or computes. When you want to recall the information we go into our memory bank and recall it. These are the basic mechanics of the brain and a computer. Sounds pretty simple and harmless so far. This article maybe considered a hodge-podge of scientific, spiritual, and technological information, but the information is relevant and I want for everyone to think about it, and make a decision about the information presented.
The brain is the housing for your mind. The eyes are stalks that grow out of the brain during embryo development. You may have heard the phrase that the eyes are the “windows of the soul.” Well the mind is your soul, it’s where your will, your intellect, your emotions and your distinctive characteristics are located. In the brain, there are four predominant brainwave activities: Beta (Awake: engaged learning, thinking), Alpha (Awake: creativity), Theta (Napping), and Delta (Deep Sleep). While you are awake and watching the television, a few things happen in your subconscious that you probably don’t realize. We’ll deal with three of them: first, your brain activity switches from left hemisphere (logical) to right hemisphere (emotional); second, the switch causes your brain to release endorphins which is similar to a stimulant, that’s why many people are addicted to television because it gives them a sort of high; and third, your brainwaves start to change from awake to napping while you are still physically awake. You’re somewhere between Alpha and Theta. Video games, by the way, have been known to take brainwaves to below Delta levels. This is amazing that television and video games can cause your brain to go to levels below the consciousness of the body. In other words, it’s like your body can be awake and your brain can be asleep simultaneously. You're in essence a zombie. Have you ever been watching television and someone kept calling your name and you didn't hear them? Eventually they physically had to come over to you and get your attention? Your brainwaves were below your physical consciousness.
Now that we have laid the foundation for this, the images are now coming into your eyes, and usually we have a filtering process that deciphers the information and processes it. This time, however, that doesn’t happen because the brainwaves are so low. So what happens is that the messages that are coming through the television screen are going directly into your subconscious, your mind. Remember, at this point you have no ability to judge or evaluate the information consciously because your brainwaves have been lowered, so you more than likely are awake but the subliminal messages are bypassing your physically awake state. You might not believe it. But have you had a commercial jingle that you couldn’t get out of your head? Or have you ever seen a scary movie and had a nightmare? Those images go directly into your mind and stay there. Your mind doesn’t differentiate between reality and fiction. It takes the images, receives them and stores them. That’s why even though you know it’s only a movie, you still jump at a scary or suspenseful scene, because your mind accepts it all as real and then plays back the images and scenes at a later point in time. Did you know that a Pokemon television show made hundreds of kids sick and some even had seizures because of the flashing images? Children were throwing up and hospitals were inundated with calls. Folks, the brain is an amazing tool and these manipulators have found yet another way to control people. A lot of the cynics out there will say that this sounds like a conspiracy theory. This is no conspiracy, and it’s no theory, these are just the hardcore facts.
Well I think that I’ll end Part 1 here, I want you to be to digest the content in smaller sections. This information can be a bit much, but I do want you to be ready for the next part, we’re going to get a little deeper next time. I’ll continue with Part 2 shortly.

Good article. The media has brainwashed people into believing what they want us to believe. Whether it be politics, what to buy, what's considered beauty,or what to wear it seems the media effects everything we do whether we are aware or not. Even in our children schools they have them watch some sort of news program informing them of news around the world. People need to reevaluate how many hours they spend watching TV each day. We need to start turning the TV off and start reading a good book.
People don't understand the power of media...they say its just entertainment...well much can be taught when one is just being entertained
